Tim Hortons planning 80 new locations across Canada

Tim Hortons and its restaurant owners are investing $400 million dollars into building 80 new restaurants and renovating 480 existing restaurants.

Restaurant owners are investing $270 million, with Tim Hortons corporate adding an additional $130 million.

In a news release, Tim Hortons says renovation and construction material will be sourced through Canadian-owned businesses, with most items manufactured in Canada.

“Tim Hortons was built in Canada by Canadians, and we are proud to continue investing in Canada to give our guests beautiful, modern restaurants to enjoy,” says Axel Schwan, President of Tim Hortons.

“These are Canadian families investing their own money in their own communities, and that’s something we’re proud of.”

Saskatchewan will see three new restaurants built, with renovations to 12 existing Tim Hortons locations.

Tim Hortons says renovations and new builds will feature improved restaurant layouts, celebrate Canadian heritage, include a standout baked goods showcase, have upgraded kitchen equipment, and feature improved digital ordering and pick-up.

The announcement from Tim Hortons comes two weeks after American coffee and donut shop Dunkin’ Donuts announced its returning to Canada for the first time since 2018.

Tim Hortons has over 6000 locations around the world, including over 4000 in Canada.
