Sens’ Greig called to player safety hearing for roughing Carolina’s Walker

Ottawa Senators forward Ridly Greig will have a hearing with the NHL’s Department of Player Safety, the department says.

Greig’s hearing will be for roughing the Carolina Hurricane’s Sean Walker during Saturday’s game, in which the Senators were eliminated from the NHL Playoffs.

The two players exchanged blows at multiple points throughout the game. Mid-way through the second period, Greig delivered a punch to an unsuspecting Walker, who was put in a headlock. Later that period, Walker was given a boarding penalty after hitting Greig from behind.

NHL Player Safety says the date and time of Greig’s meeting have not yet been set.
