Stranger threatened North Bay victims with a knife

A 29-year-old North Bay man has been charged after victims were threatened in their driveway earlier this week by someone they didn’t know.

The North Bay Police Service responded around 4 p.m. April 28 to a residential area near Algonquin Avenue and Maplewood Avenue.

“The accused approached victims in their driveway, leading to a verbal altercation between parties not known to one another,” police said in a news release April 30.

“The accused allegedly brandished a knife and uttered threats before fleeing the area on foot. Responding officers located the accused nearby and arrested him without incident. A subsequent search resulted in the seizure of two weapons.”

He is charged with assault with a weapon, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, wearing a disguise and two counts each of carrying a concealed weapon and possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The accused was arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing.
