Pump prices climb again as gas set to rise 12 cents in two days

For the next couple days, the pump could be unfriendly for your wallet, as gas prices are set to spike four cents on Thursday and eight cents on Friday.

Dan McTeague, president of Canadians for Affordable Energy, warned residents of Eastern Canada of the two day spike via a post on X.

According to Gas Wizard, the average price of regular gas across Barrie is 181.9 cents per litre, already up three cents from Wednesday’s price of 178.9 cents per litre.

Premium gas will cost 211.9 cents per litre at the pump as of Thursday, also up three cents per litre from Wednesday’s price.

Currently, Gas Wizard lists the price of diesel as 203.9 cents per litre, unchanged from Wednesday, but according to McTeague’s social media post, prices for diesel are expected to “go much higher.”
