St. Paul’s Crescent in Barrie to be closed Monday

The road will be closed to all traffic from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. for crews to install new hydro service.

Drivers can expect traffic delays during Monday’s commute in a part of Barrie’s south end.

St. Paul’s Crescent between Mapleview Drive and Yonge Street will be fully closed on Monday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. while crews work to install new hydro service in the area.

The work is a part of a larger plan for the city: the Multi-Modal Active Transportation Master Plan. The project includes restructuring St. Paul’s Crescent from Mapleview Drive East to Yonge Street.

The City plans to realign St. Paul’s Crescent with the future Sheppard Drive. It will also improve roadside drainage and complete localized resurfacing to improve driving. In addition, crews will install a new sanitary sewer and services along with a new watermain and water services.
