SIU asks individuals to come forward related to sex assault case of former CKPS officer

The Special Investigations Unit wants individuals to come forward if they have relevant information in connection with a sexual assault investigation involving a former Chatham-Kent police officer.

The SIU was contacted by the Chatham-Kent Police Service on Sept. 8, 2025, after a woman came forward to report incidents that occurred while she was a minor and involved an on-duty constable.

As a result of the SIU investigation, Kenneth Miller is charged with the following:

• One count of sexual assault
• One count of sexual exploitation
• One count of breach of trust

Miller was arrested by members of the SIU, and later released on several conditions, including that he refrain from communicating directly or indirectly with the affected person.

SIU officials say they recognize that experiences of sexual violence can be deeply personal and difficult to speak about. There is no time limit to report sexual assault, and individuals may choose whether, how, and when they wish to share information. Coming forward is entirely voluntary.
