Dresden to host public meeting on proposed landfill redevelopment project

An information meeting is coming up, giving residents an update on the Dresden dump.

An information meeting is planned this month to update residents on a controversial proposal to convert an abandoned landfill into a regenerative recycling facility.

As previously reported since February 2024, a Toronto-based company is seeking to redevelop the site, a move that has faced sustained opposition from the small community of Dresden and municipal leaders.

The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, June 24, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Ken Houston Memorial Arena.

Officials say there are no major developments to share at this time. However, the session is intended to bring the community together to discuss advocacy efforts undertaken so far.

Residents who have specific questions are asked to submit them in advance by June 19.
