Witnesses sought after reported kidnapping in Richmond, B.C.

Mounties in Richmond are asking anyone who sees a specific Dodge Ram call 911 immediately after a possible kidnapping in a parking lot on Friday.

The incident occurred in the parking lot of Bamboo Grove Restaurant at 6920 No. 3 Rd. at approximately 10:10 p.m., according to police.

Richmond RCMP say a witness reported seeing a man being forced into a pickup truck by two other men after leaving the restaurant.

In an update Sunday, police released images and a video of the suspect vehicle, which they say was reported stolen out of Maple Ridge on Sept. 27, 2025.

Mounties believe the vehicle is a grey 2013 Dodge Ram 1500 with the B.C licence plate RF541V. It has a sunroof, mud flaps and a triple ball hitch.

Police also seized a Volkswagen Jetta they say was involved in the incident.

“Given the number of onlookers and vehicles present in the parking lot at the time of the incident, investigators are hoping to speak with additional witnesses who were in the area and may have information,” Richmond RCMP wrote in a statement. “Police are also seeking Tesla owners who were parked nearby and may have captured footage through Sentry Mode, as well as anyone with dash-cam or security video from the area around the time of the incident.”

In the surveillance video, what happens around the Dodge Ram is partially obscured by the vehicles in front of it. A person can be seen getting out of the Volkswagen Jetta and walking toward the Dodge Ram. An individual then appears to get out of the pickup truck, run to the Volkswagen Jetta and drive way, before the Dodge Ram also drives away in the other direction.

Police asked anyone with information or who sees the Dodge Ram to call 911 and refence file number 2026-12635. Mounties warned the public not to approach the suspect vehicle for their safety.
