UP Express and GO Train service resumes after temporary disruption

UP Express service between Toronto International Airport and Union Station has resumed following an equipment issue that halted service Monday morning.

UP Express trains were not operating to or from Union Station because of an earlier equipment issue west of the station, according to Metrolinx.

As a result of UP Express cancellations, GO Express buses were operating between both stations.

There was also significant delays on the Kitchener GO and Barrie GO lines, with several trains cancelled.

In a statement to CTV News, Metrolinx officials said service was delayed due to an “equipment issue” which caused a train to move under its own power blocking one of the tracks.

“We appreciate our customers’ patience during this disruption and thank the TTC for their support in providing alternate travel options, Metrolinx said in a statement.
