Sask. RCMP arrest suspect in North Battleford killing

RCMP are looking for a man charged in the death of another man from North Battleford earlier this week.

A 21-year-old man wanted in connection with a homicide in North Battleford has been arrested.

Saskatchewan RCMP say Tyson Cummer was arrested Saturday in a home in Cut Knife following joint investigation by the RCMP’s homicide investigation unit, crime reduction team and Cut Knife detachment.

Cummer, who is from North Battleford, is charged with second degree murder in the death of 36-year-old Tyson Mosquito.

Police were called to an alley behind a home on 105th Street at about 4 p.m. on April 28 after receiving a report of an injured man. Officers found the man at the scene, and he was taken to hospital by EMS, where he later died.

Following the death, RCMP issued a warrant for Cummer’s arrest on May 1 and asked the public to help locate him.

RCMP say Cummer has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in North Battleford provincial court on May 4 at 2 p.m.
