Man on scooter seriously injured after colliding with car on Carling Ave.

A man riding a scooter suffered serious injuries after colliding with a vehicle near the Carlingwood Shopping Centre.

Ottawa paramedics say first responders were called to Carling Avenue near Fairlawn Avenue shortly before 8:10 p.m. Sunday.

The man was taken to the Ottawa Hospital’s trauma centre, a paramedics spokesperson said.

Another person was treated at the scene but refused transport to the hospital.

Ottawa police say Carling Avenue is closed in both directions between Fairlawn Avenue and Iroquois Road.

Drivers are being asked to avoid the area.
