OPP seek public’s help after northern Ontario lumber theft

Police in West Nipissing are asking the public for help after 40 pieces of pressure-treated wood were stolen from a business in St. Charles earlier this month.

Ontario Provincial Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a person or persons of interest following the theft of lumber from a northern Ontario business earlier this month.

The Nipissing West OPP detachment responded to a report of the theft in St.-Charles on May 11.

“Sometime in the late evening hours on May 7, unknown person(s) attended the property and removed 40 pieces of pressure-treated lumber from the property,” police said in a news release Monday.

OPP said investigators are looking to speak with the person or persons associated with a dark-coloured Dodge pickup truck.

The pickup (shown above) was observed in the area heading north on Highway 535 on May 7 between 9:45 p.m. and 11 p.m. and again between 11:45 p.m. on May 19 and 12:40 a.m. on May 20.
