Human remains found in northern Ont. field, OPP investigating

Police are investigating the discovery of human remains near Kapuskasing, Ont.

On April 21, members of Ontario Provincial Police’s James Bay Detachment responded to a report of human remains located in a field near the community.

“Preliminary information suggests this is an isolated incident with no signs of a broader threat,” said OPP in a news release.

The investigation remains ongoing under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch with the assistance of OPP Forensic Identification Services.

“Local residents should expect to see an increased police presence in the area as the investigation continues,” said OPP.
