Man, 27, struck getting out of parked car in Montreal North, driver treated for shock

A 27-year-old man sustained serious injuries when he was struck by a vehicle while getting out of his car after parking in Montreal North.

Montreal police (SPVM) report that a 911 call about a collision came in at around 12:45 a.m. on Leger and Langelier boulevards.

Officers arrived to find the man on the ground with severe injuries to his upper body. He was unconscious but breathing when taken to the hospital and his situation was considered critical.

SPVM spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant said that doctors updated his condition to stable at 4:30 a.m. and that he was considered out of danger.

“According to information that was obtained the driver was heading west on Leger and the victim was parked and getting out of his vehicle and that’s where the collission occured,” said Brabant.

The 20-year-old woman driver was treated on scene for shock.

Brabant said the collision squad analyzed the scene and that there were no elements of the collision suggesting speed, alcohol, drugs, or other criminal activity were factors leading to the collision.
