Portion of Highway 402 westbound lanes closed due to unsafe conditions

A section of westbound lanes on Highway 402 is closed due to unsafe conditions.

The closure is between Oil Heritage Road and Mandaumin Road in Plympton-Wyoming. It went into effect just after 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Drivers headed westbound on the highway are asked to exit at Oil Heritage Road and follow the detour along London Line to Mandaumin Road where you can get back on the highway.

Crews are working to open the road back up, but OPP says it’s expected to “stay in place for an extended period of time.”

You are reminded to plan an alternate route and leave extra time to get to your destination.
