Race for the mayor’s office likely as Kirsten Krose strongly considering run against Josh Morgan

Several candidates have already thrown their hat in the ring, including an incumbent and a new face.

The first challenger has told CTV News they are strongly considering to run against presumptive incumbent mayoral candidate Josh Morgan in this year’s municipal election.

Kirsten Krose describes herself as a public affairs professional who feels London needs, “meaningful change, unlocking the city’s full potential.”

“London is a city with immense potential, but too many residents feel that progress has stalled,” she adds.

She believes in several priorities including efficient services, responsible spending, safer communities, and a renewed focus on building a community for everyone.

As president of SWO Public Affairs, she describes her experience as “government relations, strategic communications, and stakeholder engagement across municipal, provincial, and federal levels.“

Previously she had roles in the Office of the Prime Minister, federal ministerial offices, and senior positions in provincial governments.

Josh Morgan has told CTV News that he will be seeking re-election to the mayor’s office.

Morgan previously served as deputy mayor, budget chair, and councillor for ward 7.

The first day to register as a candidate in the 2026 Municpal Election is May 1.

The deadline to file a nomination is no later than 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026.

Voters go to the polls on Oct. 26.
