Clouds build Tuesday with chance for stormy weather

CTV London Meteorologist Julie Atchison has your full weather forecast.

Some sunshine to start your day Tuesday, but cloud cover will build as we head into the afternoon.

“There is a chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms building this afternoon right across southern Ontario,” explained CTV London Meteorologist Julie Atchison.

Atchison says the forecast high today, 24 degrees, is right around where we should be for this time of year.

“Temperatures a bit milder heading into the afternoon and warming up,” said Atchison. “Same story heading into Wednesday. So peeks of sunshine in the morning, daytime heating and that combination of instability.”

Slightly unsettled conditions linger later in the week, with more rain and gusty winds in the extended forecast.

Tuesday: A mix of sun and cloud. 40 per cent chance of showers in the afternoon with risk of a thunderstorm. Wind becoming southwest 30 km/h gusting to 50 in the morning. High 24. Humidex 26. UV index 7 or high.

Tuesday night: Showers ending after midnight then mainly cloudy. Risk of a thunderstorm in the evening and after midnight. Wind south 20 km/h gusting to 40 becoming light in the evening. Wind becoming west 20 before morning. Low 14.

Wednesday: A mix of sun and cloud with 40 per cent chance of showers. High 24.

Thursday: A mix of sun and cloud with 60 per cent chance of showers. Windy. High 24.

Friday: A mix of sun and cloud with 40 per cent chance of showers. High 25.

Saturday: A mix of sun and cloud with 30 per cent chance of showers. High 22.

Sunday: A mix of sun and cloud. High 23.
