Blyth Festival cancels Sisters of ’78 performance due to power outage

The Blyth Festival has announced the cancellation of Thursday’s 1p.m. performance of Sisters of ’78 due to a power outage affecting their venue.

The outage has also disrupted the theatre’s phone lines.

“The safety of our patrons, artists, and staff is our first priority, and with power unavailable, we are unable to safely present this afternoon’s performance,” said a news release from the festival

When internet and phone lines are restored, patrons holding tickets for the performance will be contacted by box office staff to discuss options for the tickets.

Because the phone lines are down, patrons are asked to be patient and contact them only by email [e-mail].

“We sincerely apologize for the disruption and thank our patrons for their understanding as we navigate this unexpected situation. We will share updates on this afternoon’s outage and any impact on this evening’s performance as soon as information becomes available,” said festival organizers.
