Three people arrested in connection to stolen vehicle spree in Guelph

An arrest has been made for a string of vehicle thefts in Guelph late last year.

Police said a Toyota Camry was stolen on Dec. 10 from a pizza shop on Stone Road West. The owner, a delivery driver, was inside at the time preparing his next order.

On Dec. 15, a Lexus was left abandoned at a gas station near Gorden Street and Kortright Road. Police later learned the vehicle had been stolen the day before from Halton Region.

Security video showed a man and woman exiting the car and leaving in opposite directions.

The man was then caught on camera stealing a Toyota Camry that had been left running outside a nearby coffee shop. Footage then showed him picking up the woman nearby.

Then, in late December, police said two people were seen leaving a Cambridge address and getting into a Nissan Pathfinder that had been reported stolen from London. Police said officers also saw one of them driving a Toyota Rav4, which had been stolen from Kitchener.

A 26-year-old man and 20-year-old woman, both from Cambridge, were arrested in December and charged with motor vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

On Wednesday, police executed a search warrant at an address near Woolwich Street and Speedvale Avenue.

A 40-year-old man from Guelph was also charged with motor vehicle theft, driving while prohibited and several counts of possession of stolen property over and under $5,000.
