Police seek information about attempted kidnapping in Banff

Calgary police and Banff RCMP are looking for information about an attempted kidnapping Dec. 13 outside the Banff Christmas Market on Railway Avenue.

Police are asking for public assistance to identify suspects in an attempted kidnapping that took place in Banff earlier in December.

On Dec. 13, at around 5 p.m., a family of four was leaving the Banff Christmas Market close to 327 Railway Ave. when several masked individuals accosted them and tried to force a 44-year-old man into a vehicle.

They couldn’t, and fled in a dark sedan and a truck.

The victim reported the incident to Calgary police upon returning to the city.
