Celebration of pets take over Spruce Meadows for a weekend

There's a celebration of pets taking place at Spruce Meadows this weekend with the return of PetFest.

It’s a celebration of all things pets at Spruce Meadows this weekend.

Petfest returns for another year with new and returning events.

Visitors can expect fan favourites like Corgi and Daschund races, and a new adults-only night on Saturday night- Wienies and Martinis.

And for the kids, there’s plenty of animals to meet up close.

“Everything as small as a tarantula up to a large (animal),” said Kristen Poppenroth, Spruce Meadow’s event manager. “Some of our show horses which can be quite large -- so yes, it’s something for everything and any sort of flavour that you like with animals, we can find it here at Spruce Meadows.”

Organizers are asking people to keep their pets at home and bring something home from a local vendor for them instead.
