Pearl Mist returns to Parry Sound this week

Cruise season arrives in Parry Sound this week, as the Pearl Seas Cruises vessel, Pearl Mist, is set to return to the community on Thursday.

The ship is scheduled to arrive at 7 a.m. and depart at 6 p.m., marking the beginning of what is expected to be a busy season on the water.

According to the Parry Sound Area Chamber of Commerce, 16 cruise ship visits from three different cruise lines are planned throughout the boating season.

Passengers visiting the town will have the chance to explore local shops, restaurants and waterfront attractions along the Georgian Bay.

The chamber says Parry Sound continues to be popular stop for Great Lakes cruise passengers and is encouraging locals to help welcome visitors during the ship’s arrival.

The Pearl Mist accommodates up to 210 guests, with a crew of 70. According to its website, the vessel sails the Great Lakes each summer, as well as the Canadian and New England coastlines, including the St. Lawrence Seaway.
