‘Suspicious’ early-morning fire in New Glasgow, N.S., under investigation

A “suspicious” fire in New Glasgow, N.S., early Friday morning is under investigation.

Police, fire and ambulance crews responded to reports of a structure fire at a home on High Street around 2:30 a.m.

A 17-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man were inside the home at the time.

They both escaped and neither reported being injured, however, the home was extensively damaged by the fire.

Police say the property is being secured while investigators continue to examine the scene.

They add preliminary findings indicate the fire is suspicious.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have information on the fire to call them at 902-752-1941 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
