Collision in Lower Sackville, N.S., knocks out power to thousands

A collision in Lower Sackville, N.S., Friday morning has knocked out power to thousands of customers.

Old Sackville Road closed at Walker Avenue and Downsview Drive around 9 a.m., according to a post from the RCMP.

No other details about the crash have been released at this time, but a Halifax Transit bus was pictured being towed away from the scene.

A power pole and electrical wires are on the ground and across the street.

More than 4,000 Nova Scotia Power customers were without electricity as of 10 a.m.

The updated estimated restoration time is 12 p.m.
