Cape Breton police investigate shots fired at Glace Bay home

Shots were fired at a residence on McLeods Road in Glace Bay, N.S., late Friday night and police are searching for a suspect.

A resident called Cape Breton police around 10 p.m. The caller reported that someone fired shots at the front of his home before driving away towards Dominion Street.

No one was injured.

Police obtained information from the resident and patrolled the area for a possible suspect vehicle but were unable to find anyone matching the description provided.

“Based on preliminary investigation, police believe this was an isolated incident with no further risk to public safety,” reads a news release from police.

Forensic identification processed the scene for evidence and police remained overnight as a precaution.

The investigation is ongoing and officers are asking the public for help in identifying a dark-coloured four-door Cadillac with wrap-around taillights and a loud operating exhaust.
