Power rates up 4.29 per cent in final decision from N.B. energy and utilities board

NB Power’s rates are going up 4.3 per cent.

Power rates in New Brunswick are up 4.29 per cent following a final decision from the Energy and Utilities Board (EUB) on NB Power’s application for a rate increase.

On April 1, the EUB approved NB Power’s uniform rate increase application of a 4.75 per cent increase, but sought adjustments on revenue requirements from the utility before setting a final rate.

“NB Power filed revised documentation in compliance with the Decision indicating a revenue requirement of $2,733.3 million for 2026-2027 and a rate increase of 4.29% applied uniformly across all customer classes,” says the EUB in its decision issued Monday.

The EUB says the new rates took effect on Tuesday.
