For the first time since becoming a program, the University of Winnipeg men’s volleyball team is Canada West champions.
The Wesmen beat the Alberta Golden Bears in straight sets – 25-20, 25-20, 25-21 – to secure the championship.
“I have no words. I’m speechless. The guys played amazing. They did everything that I asked for, and more,” said Wesmen Head Coach Chris Voth.
Isaiah Olfert led the way with 16 kills, followed by Luke Lodewyks with 15.
Next up is the 2025 U Sports National Championships, which are being held in Brandon. The Wesmen are set to be the top-ranked team for nationals.
Nationals start March 21.
