Winnipeg firefighters were kept busy Sunday responding to a pair of fires on the same street.

The first fire took place at 1:30 p.m. in a mixed business and residential building in the 400 block of Selkirk Avenue.

Firefighters entered the building to battle the blaze, and the fire was declared under control at 2 p.m. Everyone inside the building was able to evacuate and no injuries were reported. They were able to return to their suites after firefighters were finished working.

Three hours later, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service were called to another fire in the same block.

They initially worked inside, but had to move outside due to deteriorating conditions. Crews were working overnight to extinguish the blaze.

There were no injuries reported during the second fire.

The cause is under investigation.
