A Manitoba man is $1 million richer after winning on a scratch lottery ticket.
Kelvin Kidd of Crystal City won $1 million on the Set for Life Scratch and Win ticket.
“I was speechless, and in shock,” Kidd said in a news release.
According to the release, Kidd said his late mother-in-law predicted he would one day win the lottery. He said whenever he didn’t win, he would look up and say, “Didn’t win this one.”
Kidd said he would use his winnings to look after his kids and grandchildren, including putting money away for their education and buying new cars. He added he might also travel with his wife.
“We’re very happy where we are. But we’d like to travel,” he said. “We go to Mexico every year, maybe next time we’ll go to Portugal.”
The winning ticket was purchased at Garven Grocery Store in Springfield, Manitoba.
