Manitoba winter storm brings school and road closures across province

Yesterday evening’s snowfall across the province has resulted in a number of school division closures, bus cancellations and road closures in effect for today.

The Evergreen School Division said buses are cancelled and schools are closed this morning.

The Lord Selkirk School Division said its buses are cancelled and all schools are closed.

The Lakeshore School Division said all schools are closed today.

The Rolling River School Division said buses are cancelled, all colony schools are closed, however all community schools are open.

In the Seine River School Division, all schools are closed. In the Sunrise School Division, buses are cancelled and all schools are closed.

Hazardous conditions are prompting some schedule adjustments this morning in the Division scolaire franco-manitobane.

The DSFM said buses are cancelled for École Saint-Lazare and École Saint-Georges, however these schools are open.

The DSFM said École Jour de Plaine à Laurier and École Aurèle Lemoine however are both closed.

The following highways are also closed based on poor driving conditions.

Provincial Highway 5 from Grandview to Dauphin is closed.

Provincial Highway 5 from Dauphin to Saint Rose Du Lac is closed.

Provincial Highway 5 from McCreary to Saint Rose Du Lac is closed.

Provincial Highway 20 from Dauphin to Fork River is closed.

Provincial Highway 50 from McCreary to Silver Ridge is closed.

Provincial Highway 68 from Saint Rose Du Lac to Oakview is closed.
