Now that we’re a few days into the season, there is a spring feel in the air in Winnipeg and southern Manitoba on Monday.

Most areas will enjoy sunshine or a mix of sun and cloud and daytime highs above freezing this afternoon.

Sky conditions around Brandon into the southwest corner of the province will turn cloudy.

Across the north, most areas will receive a dusting of flurries or light snow, courtesy of a weakening low over the region.

The last of the snow will end Monday night ahead of the next low that will bring snow to parts of the north on Tuesday.

Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) said Tuesday’s snowfall will only bring a few more cm of fresh snow. However, local amounts of 10 cm are possible over 36 hours.

Meanwhile, northwestern Ontario starts the week on Monday in sunshine with temperatures climbing above the freezing mark.

Ahead Monday night, clouds will increase in Winnipeg and the southeast.

There is a low chance of overnight snow across the southwest, including Brandon. There is also the risk of freezing rain in the wheat city.

Overnight lows across the south will drop to -5 C or -6 C in most regions.

Warmer temperatures are expected in Winnipeg on Tuesday and Wednesday, before dropping back to highs around 0 C on Thursday with the possibility of flurries continuing into Friday.
