A 28-year-old man has been charged after three people were attacked in Winnipeg’s Centennial neighbourhood Friday night.
Winnipeg police were called to a report of a stabbing in the 500 block of Eglin Avenue at roughly 9 p.m.
Officers allege a 28-year-old man was involved in an argument with several people at the location, which escalated.
A 53-year-old woman and a 60-year-old man were assaulted in the upper body, and a 33-year-old man was also assaulted in the upper body with a weapon, police said. The 33-year-old was taken to hospital in stable condition.
The woman and the 60-year-old man did not need medical attention.
At roughly 9:45 p.m., the suspect was taken into custody in the 600 block of Balmoral Street.
The suspect, who is from Little Saskatchewan First Nation, has been charged with two counts of assault and one charge of assault with a weapon. He remains in custody and the charge against him has not been proven in court.
