Though spring may be on the horizon, parts of Manitoba are set to experience a wallop of winter weather on Monday.

As of early Monday morning, Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) issued snowfall warnings for several central Manitoba communities, including Bloodvein, Victoria Beach, and Arborg.

The weather agency explains that a developing low pressure system is expected to bring a “narrow band of rapidly accumulating snow” through parts of central Manitoba.

The snow will taper off on Monday afternoon as the weather system moves to Ontario.

ECCC notes that northerly winds combined with the snow could result in blowing snow and reduced visibility.

Residents should be ready for deteriorating travel conditions. If visibility is reduced while you’re driving, you should slow down, watch for tail lights ahead, and be ready to stop.
