Fentanyl resembling cookies, candies, hitting Winnipeg streets: police

Winnipeg police are warning the public about a new batch of fentanyl appearing on city streets with a distinctive appearance.

On Friday, police released photos of fentanyl pressed and packaged to look like cut-out cookies, soaps, candies and confections.

Police say if people come across similar items, they should not touch them and call the non-emergency line at 204-986-6222.

Police add people using drugs should never use them alone and always carry Naloxone.
