In Winnipeg and surrounding areas, daytime highs Thursday afternoon should reach 3 C or 4 C.
In the southwest, Brandon’s forecast high is 0 C, while Dauphin should top out closer to 2 C.
Meanwhile, some of the most northern regions of the province will see snow today and tonight.
Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) said 4 to 8 cm of snowfall is possible in Churchill and Gillam by the end of the day on Thursday.
After a potent low pressure system over the American Midwest brought significant snowfall to northwestern Ontario this week, snow should taper off in the region around midday Thursday.
Conditions Friday in Winnipeg will be like today – some afternoon clearing with a high near 3 C.
A pleasant weekend is on tap for the city with a nice mix of sun and cloud both days. Saturday will be the warmer day, with a high of 5 C, while temperatures Sunday will rise close to 2 C.
Next week should finally feel like spring has truly arrived. Temperatures really take off by Wednesday, with forecast highs potentially reaching the mid-teens right through the weekend.
