Colleen Bready’s Forecast: Snow gone, but cold lingering

Published:

Colleen Bready has your current conditions and updated weather forecast for Feb. 7, 2025.

The snow is behind us in southern Manitoba on Friday; now the gradual descent into colder conditions begins.

Flurries could spring up ahead of a southward-moving cold front over central Manitoba on Friday afternoon.

Daytime highs across southern regions should reach between -11 C and -14 C, including Winnipeg and Brandon.

Conditions are otherwise quiet, with a mix of sun and cloud or mostly cloudy skies.

There is a good chance of flurries across much of northern Manitoba on Friday afternoon, with temperatures forecast to reach around -17 C.

To the east, light snow is expected Friday afternoon across northwestern Ontario.

Ahead tonight, overnight lows will drop into the -20s across the province.

Environment and Climate Change Canada said extreme cold conditions are possible on Friday night and Saturday morning for parts of western Manitoba.

Aside from the cold, no significant weather conditions are expected across the province.

Temperatures will be a few degrees colder over the weekend in Winnipeg, preparing us for an even colder week ahead.

But with colder conditions comes plenty of sunshine on Saturday and Sunday and for much of next week.
