Colleen Bready’s Forecast: Cold and cloudy conditions

Published:

Colleen Bready has your current conditions and updated weather forecast for March 4, 2025.

On this day 59 years ago, Winnipeg was struck with a historic, even legendary, blizzard on March 4, 1966.

Conditions Tuesday in the city won’t be nearly as dramatic, but it will be a colder, cloudier, and windier day than it’s been over much of the past week.

Most areas of the province will see similar conditions. There is a greater chance of flurries in the south than in the north, but they are possible across the province Tuesday afternoon.

North winds are strongest Tuesday in the southern half of the province. Temperatures are expected to fall or hold steady in most areas but remain a few degrees below the freezing mark.

Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) said a developing low over northern Alberta will bring snow to northern Saskatchewan Tuesday night and on Wednesday.

At least partial sunshine will return to southern Manitoba on Wednesday, with warmer temperatures. Winnipeg is forecast to reach around 0 C in the afternoon.

Daytime highs will dip again to around -4 C in the city on Thursday and Friday under a mix of sun and cloud, but that is the normal high temperature for Winnipeg for early March.
