Three men are facing murder-related charges after a 45-year-old man died Thursday afternoon.
Berens River RCMP say they received a report about an assault around 4 p.m. Thursday.
The victim was taken to the nursing station with serious life-threatening injuries. Mounties said the man later died.
An investigation revealed three men possibly connected to the incident left the community in a black pickup truck and headed toward Bloodvein First Nation. Once officers arrived, they found the truck and arrested the suspects.
Two men were charged with second-degree murder and a third man was charged with accessory after the fact. All three remain in custody.
RCMP have not publicly identified the 45-year-old victim. Mounties also haven’t said whether the victim and suspects knew each other, or if it was a random attack.
