RCMP in The Pas are investigating a string of shootings that sent two men to hospital.
On Friday night around 9:10 p.m., Mounties were called to a home on Settee Avenue following reports of possible shots fired.
When officers arrived, they were unable to confirm if a gun was fired after speaking with residents. In a Saturday release, RCMP noted there was no damage to the house or witnesses to the incident.
About 20 minutes later, officers were called to another shooting at a home on Patrick Avenue.
They found a 31-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to hospital and later transferred to Winnipeg in critical condition.
Police said there were no other injuries reported and believe the shooting was targeted.
At around 4:45 a.m. Saturday morning, Mounties learned a 26-year-old man arrived at the hospital with a gunshot injury.
Officers spoke with the victim and learned he was shot sitting inside a vehicle outside a home in nearby Umpherville. RCMP said the man was released from hospital with minor injuries.
RCMP said officers are patrolling the areas where the three incidents took place. Residents in The Pas and Umpherville are asked to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity by calling 911.
“RCMP believe there to be no threat to the community at this time as the suspects and victims are known to each other,” police said in the release.
The Pas RCMP are asking any witnesses regarding these incidents to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
Residents who may have video surveillance on Patrick Avenue – specifically between 8:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on Friday evening – are also asked to contact authorities.
RCMP officers in The Pas continue to investigate.
