14-year-old girl stabbed in Winnipeg, police searching for suspects

A 14-year-old girl is in stable condition after she was stabbed by a group of strangers just before 10 p.m. Saturday night.

According to police, the girl was walking to meet someone in Winnipeg’s Norwood East area when she was confronted by a group of unknown women or girls near Niverville Avenue and Champlain Street.

Police say the group assaulted and stabbed the girl before running away. A person nearby found the girl and called 911. She was transported to hospital in unstable condition, but later upgraded to stable.

Police have not yet released a description of the suspects.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Major Crimes Unit or Crime Stoppers.
