World War II veteran, Charles Davis, has passed away at the age of 102.

Davis was a cherished member of the Windsor community. During his time with the Canadian army, he served with the 69th Light Anti-Aircraft Battery of the Royal Canadian Artillery Regiment.

He landed on Juno Beach on June 10, 1944, just four days after D-Day. Davis was able to return to the beach for the 75th anniversary of D-Day with his grandson in 2019.

Last year, he travelled to France, commemorating the events that led to the end of the war.

In 2022, Davis celebrated his 100th birthday with letters around the world, where he received over 100 of them.

Davis’ funeral will take place through Windsor’s Families First Funeral Home.
