Woman threatened with a knife, Chatham man charged: CKPS

A Chatham man has been charged after the Chatham-Kent Police Service said a woman was threatened with a knife.

On Tuesday just after 11 p.m., the CKPS was called to an incident involving a weapon on King Street East.

They said an 18-year-old woman was threatened with a knife inside a vehicle. She escaped safely and called the police but did sustain minor injuries.

As a result of the investigation, the CKPS has charged a 23-year-old Chatham man with:

• Failure to comply with a probation order
• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
• Assault with a weapon
• Forcible confinement
• Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
