WECHU warning of potential measles exposure in Leamington

The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit (WECHU) is warning of a potential measles exposure in the community.

If you were at Walmart Supercentre at 304 Erie Street South in Leamington on March 1 between 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. or at La Toxica Mexican Food at 73 Erie Street South in Leamington on March 2 from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., you could have been exposed.

You are asked to monitor yourself for symptoms of measles for seven to 21 days after the date of exposure.

Measles symptoms can include a fever, runny nose, cough, drowsiness, irritability, and red eyes. A rash could start on the face and develop further down the body. If this happens, contact your healthcare provider.
