Strong winds, flurries and temperature swings expected in Windsor-Essex heading into weekend

Windsor residents can expect a turbulent mix of winter and early‑spring weather over the next several days as strong winds, flurries and fluctuating temperatures move through the region.

There is a special weather statement in effect from Environment Canada, warning of strong southerly developing this morning or afternoon with gusts up to 60 km/h possible.

According to the weather authority, these winds are expected to further strengthen later in the afternoon or early evening and become more westerly with gusts of 70 to 90 km/h possible.

Periods of snow are also expected to start this morning, tapering off around noon. The lingering moisture will bring a 60 per cent chance of rain showers or flurries through the afternoon.

Tonight, the sky remains mostly cloudy with a 40 per cent chance of rain early in the evening, turning into a 40 per cent chance of flurries later on before conditions begin clearing toward morning.
