Over 3,000 University of Windsor students partook in an exclusive job fair, hoping to stay in the city. CTV Windsor’s Chris Campbell reports.

The University of Windsor is hosting a job fair for its students Thursday at the Toldo Lancer Centre from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Organizers say event offers a platform for students to explore career opportunities, co-op placements, and internships across various industries.

Notable employers in attendance include Amico Infrastructures, Caesars Windsor, Canada Border Services Agency, ENWIN Utilities, Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare, Invest WindsorEssex, NextStar Energy, Stellantis, and Windsor Police.

According to Krista Kelly, Manager of the Career Centre at the University of Windsor, over 2,000 students have pre-registered. Kelly says the event allows students to showcase the unique skills and talents they’ve developed during their studies. Kelly also notes that all participating employers have indicated plans to hire in the coming months, making this an excellent opportunity for students to network and prepare for future career prospects.

While pre-registration isn’t mandatory, students are encouraged to bring their resumes and be ready to engage with potential employers. Walk-ins are welcome, provided capacity limits are not exceeded. Students need to present their student ID and register upon arrival. The last job fair held in 2020 reached full capacity throughout the day, indicating a strong interest and turnout from the student body.
