Gusty winds and flurries give way to milder, wetter days in Windsor-Essex

Waking up to blustery and chilly conditions Tuesday as a mix of sun and cloud combines with strong northwest winds and the chance of flurries across the city.

There’s a 40 percent chance of flurries throughout the day, though snowfall amounts are expected to be light. The bigger concern will be the wind, with northwest gusts reaching up to 70 km/h early this morning before easing to 30 km/h gusting to 50 later in the day.

Despite a daytime high of –2, wind chill values are making it feel significantly colder, near –18 this morning and –9 this afternoon. The UV index remains low at 2.

Conditions will calm somewhat tonight, with partly cloudy skies and a 30 per cent chance of flurries early in the evening. Winds will continue to weaken, becoming light near midnight. Overnight lows are expected to dip to –11, with wind chills ranging from –10 this evening to –18 overnight.

Looking ahead to Wednesday, clouds will increase through the morning, with another 40 per cent chance of flurries developing in the afternoon.

Temperatures will climb slightly, reaching a high of 1 C, though the morning will still feel cold with a wind chill near –17.
