Fire at south Windsor, Ont. home ‘intentionally set’

A fire at a vacant home located on Mount Royal Drive earlier this week has been determined to have been an act of arson.

According to social media posts from Windsor Fire & Rescue Services, at approximately 7:45 p.m. on Dec. 11 crews responded to the 4300-block of Mount Royal Drive for the report of a structure fire at a vacant house.

Crews were able to get the blaze under control but later determined that the fire had multiple points of origin.

As a result, Windsor fire says the blaze was “intentionally set,” and that the Windsor police arson team has been notified.

Damage is estimated at $100,000.

No injuries were reported.
