Bus shelter shattered in Windsor hit-and-run, police ask public for video

A hit-and-run in Windsor that left a bus shelter damaged is under investigation. The suspect remains at large.

Windsor police are looking for anyone who may have information about a crash that damaged a bus shelter in the city.

Around 6:13 p.m. on March 1, police say a white sedan struck a bus shelter on the northwest corner of University Avenue west and Bruce Avenue, completely shattering the glass.

Police said after the crash, a male passenger and a female driver both got out of the vehicle and switched seats.

The vehicle then fled the scene northbound on Janette Avenue without the driver or passenger reporting the incident.

At the time of the incident, the female driver was wearing a grey sweater, a long dark-coloured skirt, and a dark-coloured hijab.

The male passenger wore dark clothing.

Investigators are asking residents and motorists in the area to check their video surveillance or dashcam footage for evidence.
