Windsor police are cracking down on shoplifters at a department store chain in the city.

Officers arrested 12 people at Winners and Marshalls from April 8 to April 10.

Members of the Problem-Oriented Policing Unit (POP) collaborated with Winners and Marshalls loss-prevention teams to identify and arrest suspected shoplifters at their Windsor locations.

In total, the POP Unit arrested 12 people, executed one warrant, and laid a total of 10 charges.

The specialized POP Unit was launched in 2018 to focus on sustained crime problems in neighbourhoods across the city.
