Police in Port Moody are appealing for witnesses as they investigate a break-in at a business in Newport Village mall this week.
The incident occurred just after 4 a.m. on Tuesday, the Port Moody Police Department said in a news release Friday.
The department shared surveillance video that shows the suspects using a crowbar to force open the doors to the business, then smashing glass display counters and stealing merchandise.
While the PMPD did not name the business that was attacked, it appears in the video to be a jewelry store.
The suspects escaped with $10,000 worth of product, police said, adding that their investigation is ongoing.
Police described the suspects as “wearing dark clothing,” gloves and masks. One is heavy-set and the other has a medium build. Audio captured them speaking Farsi to each other, according to police.
“Folks in the area may have heard or seen something unusual in Newport Village Tuesday morning that could assist us with our investigation and we ask that they reach out to us,” said Const. Sam Zacharias, in the news release.
“Someone likely knows who these individuals are and is also encouraged to contact us, or Crime Stoppers if they wish to remain anonymous.”
